Sip, Mingle and Learn at Annual Gatlinburg Wine Festival

If you’re taking a girls’ road trip through the Smoky Mountains this spring, Auntie Belham’s has all the information about a one day Gatlinburg event that should be at the top of the trip itinerary. If you’re a wine lover, you can’t miss the annual Gatlinburg wine festival in the heart of downtown. The Smoky Mountain Wine Fest brings together wine lovers and wineries from all over the state for one day only.

The Gatlinburg Smoky Mountain Wine Fest will be held on Saturday, April 12 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm. The festival will be held downtown on the plaza at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, so guests can mingle and sample while enjoying the springtime mountain views.

All Smokies’ guests 21 and older can purchase a ticket to the festival for $20. Those who purchase tickets and wristbands will receive a branded wine glass for sampling. Twelve wineries will be participating in the festival, and each provide a one ounce sample to those with wristbands.

Guests of the Gatlinburg event will also be able to purchase the wine they sample and have the opportunity to meet winemakers to learn the art of winemaking and sampling. You’ll be able to mingle with other wine lovers, enjoy new wine flavors and meet some of the best winemakers in the state.

For those who would like to lengthen their trip to the mountains, a Wine, Dine and Art Crawl is scheduled on April 11, the day before the Gatlinburg Smoky Mountain Wine Fest. From 5:00pm to 9:00pm, the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community will provide a private, guided tour of galleries with wine and hors d’oeuvres from local eateries. To finish the night, participants will enjoy a fine dinner together at one of Gatlinburg unique local restaurants. Tickets for the Wine, Dine and Art Crawl are $50 per person.
