You just need to bring along the groceries, which can be picked up at one of the large grocery stores in Sevierville or Pigeon Forge on your way into town.
The Thanksgiving holiday is a great time to get into the holiday spirit, so hop aboard the Gatlinburg Winter Magic Trolley Ride of Lights ! This wonderful trolley route departs from the Mass Transit Center at traffic light #5 for a 45 minute ride through the Gatlinburg Winter Magic displays. This is a fantastic opportunity to relax and enjoy all of the unique LED lighting displays along the downtown Parkway, adjacent River Road, and the triangle juncture of the two. The displays feature animals indigenous to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, including deer, foxes, squirrels and rabbits. The Gatlinburg Winter Magic Trolley Ride of Lights departs three times nightly, with departures at 6:30, 7:30, and 8:30 on each night of operation.
Another fun thing to do in Gatlinburg for Thanksgiving is the Great Smoky Thanksgiving Arts & Crafts Show ! This annual craft show features dozens of booths with unique handcrafted gifts that have been made by members of the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community. Whether you want to purchase a gift for yourself or get a head start on your holiday shopping, this is a special opportunity to enjoy craft shopping at one location in downtown Gatlinburg! The Great Smoky Thanksgiving Arts & Crafts Show takes place at the Gatlinburg Convention Center, which is just minutes from Auntie Belham’s Cabin Rentals! The show runs from Tuesday, Nov. 20 to Sunday, Nov. 25, and admission is FREE! The show hours are weekdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
