Red Bear is the cutest Wears Valley cottage that looks like it is straight out of a storybook! With 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, comfy furniture, a bubbling hot tub, access to a seasonal pool, and a fantastic view of the Smoky Mountains, Red Bear checks all the boxes! Guests also have access to the Honeysuckle Meadows swimming pool, fishing pond and concession stand!!!
When you walk into Red Bear, you’re greeted by a cozy living room with updated chairs and couch. An electric fireplace, flat screen TV with satellite channels, and double doors that allow you to take in the mountain view from the comfort of the living are waiting for you to curl up and relax! Just past the living room is the dining area and the fully stocked kitchen. Make your favorite meals, a cup of coffee, or pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy staying in one of the cutest cottages around. Also on this level is the main bedroom with a king-sized bed, full bathroom with standup shower, and the laundry room. Walk outside to the large deck to take advantage of the gas grill or the deck furniture and enjoy the mountain air and amazing view.
Head upstairs to a cozy sitting room, perfect for reading and naps. When you walk across the catwalk area, you’ll come to another little deck with the best view you can find! There is also a queen-sized bedroom with flat screen TV, desk area, and a full bathroom with shower and tub.
You can head to the lowest level using the spiral staircase or the outside staircase, in case spiral staircases aren’t your style. Downstairs is another relaxation space- you’ve got the third bedroom with a set of twin bunk beds, an armchair, beanbags, and another TV, perfect for the kids! There is also a bonus room on this level and has a Futon. There is also a third full bathroom with a standup shower. Outside is the hot tub, perfectly positioned so you can take in the views of the mountains and valleys.
*The futon and bunkbeds are not in the same place as they are in the photos.
The Red Bear property also has a single car garage! But if you don't feel like parking your car in there, we've added amenities to make this a party garage with a folding table and chairs, cooler, giant jenga and cornhole, along with solo cups and ping pong balls for fun "college games"! String lights in the garage are soon to come!
After a long day of fun on the Pigeon Forge parkway, Gatlinburg strip, or in the Great Smoky National Park, Red Bear is the perfect place to rest, reset, enjoy the peace and quiet, and experience one of the best areas for Smoky Mountain living!

How is the drive to this cabin?
The drive to this cabin is easy and well paved, but steep and winding in some areas. No 4 wheel drive necessary except during winter weather.
How close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg is this cabin?
This cabin is 12 miles from the parkway of Pigeon Forge and 17 miles from the parkway of Gatlinburg.
How many vehicles will fit in the driveway?
2-3 vehicles of any size will fit comfortably in this driveway.
Is this cabin dog friendly?
NO… And we charge $250 when evidence of dog/animal is found inside unit.
Can I use the fireplace year round?
No, local fire codes restrict the use of fireplaces April through August. After the fires of 2016 our community takes this very seriously.
Is there another cabin nearby, in case more family wants to join?
Nothing within walking distance, but for nearby recommendations you can text or call our Reservations Team for details: 865-436-661
Do I need to bring extra toilet paper, trash bags, paper towels, soap, etc?
YES… We provide 1 roll of toilet paper per restroom, one trash bag per trash can, 1 roll of paper towels in the kitchen, 1 small bar of soap per sink. You are responsible for bringing your own extras. We also provide 4 towels and 2 wash clothes per F/Q/K bed, 2 towels and 1 wash cloth per twin bed, and 1 kitchen set (1 hand towel, 1 washcloth, starter kit of dish detergent). We do not provide shampoo, conditioner, lotions, laundry detergent, coffee or coffee filters, salt and pepper, charcoal for grills, daily maid service or flashlights/candles/matches (too often these items were taken home by guests so we stopped providing them).
Will I encounter wildlife?
Possibly. Black bears are attracted to food and are very curious and destructive, so DO NOT leave food in your vehicles or unaccompanied food on decks and porches and grills. If your cabin does not have a bear proof trash can, please call us for trash pick up.
And remember, you are surrounded by flourishing nature and a national wildlife reserve, so it’s not unusual for bugs to get into your cabin. We do a very good job of spotting and cleaning bugs before your arrival, but we cannot guarantee they won’t return, just as you can’t prevent 100% of bugs from entering your own home. Please be respectful of the fact that we don’t have total control over nature.
Will the hot tub be clean for my arrival?
Absolutely. In fact the water may still need time to heat up on the day of your arrival. Just keep the cover on the hot tub and turn on the jets, as this will heat the hot tub quicker. To keep your hot tub clean for the length of your stay, keep the cover on the hot tub when not using it and rinse off your skin in the shower before entering the hot tub. Unwashed skin will dirty a hot tub quickly, and we only drain & clean the hot tubs after check-out. If there is sediment in your hot tub upon check-in, it is because your cabin’s water comes from a well.
