Located just 27 miles from Gatlinburg, Tennessee, Cades Cove is a scenic valley in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Home to beautiful mountains and abundant wildlife, it’s a great place to visit if you want to hike, bike, horseback ride, camp, or sample some local history. The Cove contains historic buildings harkening back to the first European settlements in the early 19th century. The area is also known as an old Cherokee hunting ground.
While cabin sizes and prices vary, you can generally find what you need whether you’re staying as a couple or small family, or if you’re planning a large scale group retreat or family reunion. Some of the cabins will even accommodate pets.
Cades Cove is lovely any time of year, though travel sites about the Great Smoky Mountains often boast about the wonderful fall foliage. If you want to travel during peak leaf color, it’s best to call well ahead to ensure cabins are available in Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge near Cades Cove.
