Tennessee is a very musical state, and Gatlinburg is no exception! There are a variety of opportunities for visitors to hear some wonderful live music in Gatlinburg. Bluegrass and country music are the most popular genres, but you’re bound to hear a little bit of everything during your vacation. To help you make the most of your getaway, Auntie Belham’s Cabin Rentals has put together a guide to five of the best Gatlinburg live music venues.
While a pottery shop may not seem like a typical place to hear some tunes, Alewine Pottery is a great spot for music lovers. Located in the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community, this popular store frequently hosts talented bluegrass musicians. With rocking chairs on the deck and freshly popped popcorn for sale, Alewine Pottery is a great place to kick back and relax for a while.
Of course, you’ll want to browse all of the shop’s beautiful pots, bowls, plates, mugs, and other handcrafted items while you’re there. If you have your heart set on enjoying the shop’s live entertainment, you may want to call ahead to ensure that there will be bluegrass music when you plan to visit.
The Ole Smoky Moonshine Holler is another one of the most popular Gatlinburg live music venues. Visitors can simply wander in off the Parkway and listen to free concerts from the touring bands who stop by the distillery. The Holler has live music just about every day, and many of the concerts feature up and coming artists who are on the verge of breaking into the big time. While you’re at the distillery, you can sample some of Ole Smoky’s signature moonshine for a small tasting fee.
Crystelle Creek Restaurant & Grill hosts live music every single night of the week! The restaurant has a rotating list of local performers who provide the perfect ambiance for enjoying a delicious meal. On the second Monday of every month, Crystelle Creek hosts musicians from the Smoky Mountain Songwriters Festival. If you’re lucky enough to dine at the restaurant during this evening, you might hear a concert from a hit songwriter!
Smoky Mountain Brewery is a very fun place to spend an evening listening to live music in Gatlinburg. This restaurant has live music most nights of the week and showcases some of the region’s best local talent. Beer enthusiasts are sure to love the Brewery’s selection of locally crafted ales, and everyone will enjoy the delicious food. We recommend trying one of their mouthwatering pizzas!
During evenings in June and July, the streets of downtown Gatlinburg are filled with wonderful live music as part of the Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales festival. As you enjoy the shops and attractions along The Strip, you will be treated to free bluegrass, country, and folk music that will have you nodding your head and tapping your toes. The concerts typically start at 6 p.m.
In the weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas, downtown Gatlinburg hosts Winter Magic Tunes & Tales on Friday and Saturday nights from 5 – 9:30 p.m. These popular concerts feature all of your favorite holiday tunes with a Smoky Mountain twist.
